Once you start your way down the path you might want a Wicca altar kit to help you stock up. Buying a kit generally saves you money off of buying each item separately and as a beginner you might not know what all goes together. Keep in mind though, there is no such thing as complete Wiccan altar sets because there are so many different things you can do on your altar.
While there are a lot of places to find kits, and tons of kits out there, they often vary greatly in quality. What follows is a list of ones I have have found that are of good or better quality for the beginner and should serve you well.
The best Wicca altar kit for beginners
The Alternative Imagination Wiccan Altar Supply Kit, Standard Kit featuring a Copper Offering Bowl by Alternative Imagination is your basic altar starter kit to get you up to speed quickly. This is an excellent budget kit to start with until you know what you really need or want.

- 1oz of White Dead Sea Salt
- 1oz of Black Hawaiian Sea Salt

The Clarity & Muse Wiccan Altar Supplies in Kraft Box is a little different Wiccan altar kit and around the same price. It centers more on candles and includes an alter bell which is rather unusual in these types of kits. If you like the idea of doing a lot of candle rituals then this might be an ideal kit for you to start with.

The Beginner Wicca Altar Set by Raven Moonlight is a very nice and fairly extensive Wicca starter kit which is well balanced for use with God or Goddess rituals.

The Goddess Altar set with Hand-Blended Herbs is another kit by by Raven Moonlight and aims more towards the Goddess as the name would suggest with an increase in the number of candles, inclusion of several moon specific items, and removal of the God stone.
The hand-blended oils are a particular treat and this kit has most of your beginner witch supplies all in one convenient package.
The kits from Raven Moonlight seem to contain fairly high quality products compared to other beginner sets so I would not hesitate if you like one of the sets from them.

The Wiccan Or Pagan Altar Kit by Pagan Portal is a fairly comprehensive kit which is very diverse. The inclusion of the chalice, bell and cauldron make this probably the most flexible of all the kits listed here.
I really like this Wicca altar kit because it has very little in consumables such as candles, incense, oils, etc and instead concentrates on the reusable items that you normally have to buy in addition to the kit. Sure, you will want to purchase more incense and oils to make this kit more usable, but the Wiccan altar tools like the chalice and bell are already included.
If I had to choose one kit for myself, it would absolutely be this one. I would use it and find out what consumables I wanted and order those separately.
Includes:
- one large 24″ X 24″ altar cloth
- two chime candle holders
- one silver candle
- one gold candle
- one chalice
- one silver bell
- one altar tile
- one black wood handled athame (not shown)
- one cauldron
- one white selenite wand
- one white sage incense package of 20
- one altar oil
- five crystals
While no kit is likely to have everything you want or need in one package it is a great way to get a head start for less. Stick with the less expensive kits if you are still unsure of how much you will use the kit or if you are just not that serious of a practitioner.
If on the other hand you are a serious practitioner and know that you will eventually be buying pretty much everything anyway, the larger kits are better values and will save you a lot of time and effort as well.
Remember that these are sets for beginners so the odds are that in the years to come you will probably be replacing everything with items that are more robust and more reflective of your individual tastes.
